Freeport and Indonesia are grappling for control of Grasberg, the world's second-largest copper mine, and agreed in August that Freeport would give up its majority stake to the country. But the parties have struggled to agree on a valuation. "We continue to engage in negotiations with the Indonesian government to restore long-term stability for our Grasberg operations and look forward to reaching a mutually positive resolution," Freeport CEO Richard Adkerson says in the earnings release.
